Mandibular reconstruction with free autogenous bone grafts



Abstract
The purpose of this study was to access the value of free autogenous bone graft for reconstruction of the mandible. Autogenous bone grafts were performed on patients with aneloblastoma, malignant tumor, nonunion of fracture, failure of resin
graft.
The
study population involved 10 patents (6 male, 4 female ) aged 15 to 43 years (mean 28.5) and studied the chart, periodic radiographic examination, functional evaluation, neurologic injury. The follow-up ranged 3 to 52 months. All patient's
neurologic
and functional reconvery and their perception of the outcome was favorable, It was concluded from this study that the free autogenous bone graft was successful for reconstruction of the mandible.
